we're all hot here. even chechu kittie is listless.
so what did i decide to do? cultivate the garden! weed with the shovel! prepare the berry patch! not so smart when there are heat warnings.
i basically dug this whole area out. i haven't had the energy to pick up all the detritus yet, but i'm proud of my efforts. the berry patch is on the far right. we're taking out those tiger lilies this weekend. don't worry there are a ton more of them in the yard.
the raspberry plant is waiting to go into the ground. the strawberries will go where the tiger lilies are. i can not for the life of me remember what i planted next to the raspberries on the left, but it looks nice.
the rest of the mulched area. mulching is harder than you might think.
we have lilies, heuchera, hosta, jack in the pulpit, columbine, phlox, dead tulip leaves (you're supposed to leave these alone), japanese fern, lilies of the valley, and a cute ground cover. these are mostly new plants and this area should fill out nicely.
my husband wants me to find something in the garage. i'm wondering if it's too hot to clean it out a little. crazy!
