oh, i know it's too late. but take a look at this great knitting wish list on the yarn harlot blog.
have i mentioned that i knit too? this one really amused me. i wish there was a permalink so i could email it around in july or next december.
we celebrated christmas even on the 23rd and christmas on the 24th because my brother-in-law was only in town until 4 am this morning. poor guy. he flew for about 12 hours on the 23rd (just travelling from seattle). i hope he gets home more quickly today.
we are visiting my friend francine today for dinner at her house and to extend our holiday a bit.
we weren't very commercial this year, and that's why a gift of bees from my sister was extra special. plus, she was so thrilled with herself! i only bought a few presents, and not really big ones. i may give a gift of labor to francine if i can finish it in time. not really a handmade gift, but a gift of labor. i'll fill in the details later.
usually i make a lot of my gifts, but we were distracted this year with family emergencies. i bought nearly everything from local crafters and artists. i did make one set of socks for a friend who said that no one loved her enough to make her socks! what can you do after a comment like that?? so i hope her feet feel warm and loved in her cold studio basement. and i have one other person that i won't see until next month. that may be time to make a gift for her. i have some half formed ideas.
i actually dreamt about a book last night. i should probably create it! isn't that what davinci would do??
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Geraldine, your comment about the dream made me smile - almost everything I make has come from a dream... does that put me on da vinci's level??!!!! My only problem now is that I have to make a giant woven wall hanging depicting a most complex landscape complete with multi coloured sunset out of wool tops that will have to be felted after weaving..... hmm!!!
Happy new year Geraldine xo ps you'll note I've changed email and blot spots.
